Build 3 of RMIR v2.10 is the first official release of this new version, superseding the last official release which was v2.09 build 6. Earlier builds of v2.10 were development builds. This version adds support for remotes with RF capability through the ZigBee RF4CE protocol, which is believed to be all recent UEI remotes with RF support, whether or not they have a JP1 connector. Its RF Tools feature will import and analyze Packet Sniffer Data files with a .psd extension that are saved by the TI (Texas Instruments) Packet Sniffer software used with the TI CC2531EMK Packet Sniffer dongle. The package includes test files for demonstrating the new facilities without the need to have either an RF-capable remote or a Packet Sniffer. See the announcement "RF Support in RMIR" in the JP1 Software forum for details. This version also enhances the support for the decoding of learned signals with IrpTransmogrifier and for the conversion of these signals to device upgrades. Versions 2.09 and later of RMIR require a Java 8 runtime environment or later. Earlier versions only required Java 7. As with all new versions of RMIR, as distinct from new builds of a current version, RMIR v2.10 build 3 is only available as a full installation package. Please note that for the installation to work correctly, this package needs to be unzipped into an empty folder that is not read-only. For a Windows OS this means, in particular, that it should not be unzipped into a subfolder of the Program Files folder. If you want to preserve your settings from version 2.09 then, after unzipping the package, copy the RemoteMaster.properties file from the installation folder of that version to that of this new version. Note that protocols.ini includes no-repeat versions of certain protocols, primarily intended for use by Slingbox files. Due to the specialized nature of these versions, by default they are not loaded when RM or RMIR is opened. If you need these protocols, check the item "Show Slingbox protocols" in the Options menu of either RM and RMIR. These protocols will then be loaded in all subsequent invocations of RM and RMIR until this item is specifically unchecked.
