Build 7 of RMIR v2.08 is now officially released. It is unchanged from its issue some time ago as a development build. It adds the facility to create an HTML file, summary.html, that contains all the tabular data in the setup that is open in RMIR. There is a new item, Create Summary, on the File menu. Selecting this creates the summary file in your RMIR installation folder and then opens this with your default web browser.

Build 7 is available both as a complete installation package and as an upgrade to any of builds 1 through 6. To upgrade an earlier build of RMIR v2.08 to build 7, download the package RemoteMasterUpgrade.v2.08build7.zip and unzip it into the installation folder for the earlier build, replacing any files with the same names. To create a new installation for build 7, download the complete package RemoteMaster.v2.08build7.zip and unzip it to an empty folder that is not read-only. For a Windows OS this means, in particular, that it should not be unzipped into a subfolder of the Program Files folder. If you want to preserve your settings from an earlier version of RMIR then, after unzipping the package, copy the RemoteMaster.properties file from the installation folder of the earlier version to that of this new version. You also need to run the appropriate setup script, Setup.vbs (Windows) or Setup.sh (Linux), to create the desktop shortcuts for the three applications RMIR, RM and RMPB that are all included in the RemoteMaster.jar program.

Please note that this is the final build of RMIR v2.08 and the final build of any version that is compatible with Java 7. The next release will be of RMIR v2.09 and will require Java 8 or later. For more details of the reason for this change and of what is to come in v2.09, please see the thread "RMIR: The Next Generation" in the "JP1 - Software" forum of the JP1 website.
