RemoteMaster Files

Build 6 of RMIR v2.08 is the first official release since build 1.  Builds 2 through 5 were development builds whose features and bug fixes are now incorporated into build 6.  In addition, build 6 brings one substantial new addition that provides additional support for those legacy remotes that have modem upgrade capability.  That facility was present in the now-obsolete IR.exe and is now available in RMIR.  For more details, please see the announcement thread for RMIR v2.08 in the JP1 Software forum.

Build 6 is available both as a complete installation package and as an upgrade to any of builds 1 through 5.  To upgrade an earlier build of RMIR v2.08 to build 6, download the package RemoteMasterUpgrade.v2.08build6.zip and unzip it into the installation folder for the earlier build, replacing any files with the same names.  To create a new installation for build 6, download the complete package RemoteMaster.v2.08build6.zip and unzip it to an empty folder that is not read-only.  For a Windows OS this means, in particular, that it should not be unzipped into a subfolder of the Program Files folder. If you want to preserve your settings from an earlier version of RMIR then, after unzipping the package, copy the RemoteMaster.properties file from the installation folder of the earlier version to that of this new version.  You also need to run the appropriate setup script, Setup.vbs (Windows) or Setup.sh (Linux), to create the desktop shortcuts for the three applications RMIR, RM and RMPB that are all included in the RemoteMaster.jar program.
