This is build 5 of RMIR v2.06, which is the first public release since build 2. To update builds 1 or 2 to build 5, download the RemoteMasterUpdate.v2.06build5.zip file and unzip it to the folder containing the earlier build, overwriting any files with the same name. To create a new installation for build 5, download the complete package RemoteMaster.v2.06build5.zip and unzip it to an empty folder that is not read-only. For a Windows OS this means, in particular, that it should not be unzipped into a subfolder of the Program Files folder. If you want to preserve your settings from an earlier version of RMIR then, after unzipping the package, copy the RemoteMaster.properties file from the installation folder of the earlier version to that of this new version. You also need to run the appropriate setup script, Setup.vbs (Windows) or Setup.sh (Linux), to create the desktop shortcuts for the three applications RMIR, RM and RMPB that are all included in the RemoteMaster.jar program. Build 5 fixes some bugs in build 2, updates protocols.ini and includes some new or corrected RDF files. It provides support for the parallel port interface for JP1 remotes on 64-bit Windows OS, replacing v0.02 of JP1Parallel with v0.12. Such support has been available in IR.exe v8.04 for some time but this is its first appearance in RMIR. It also adds one completely new feature. In the Protocol Editor of RMIR and RM, and also in the RMPB application, there is now an analyzer for JP2 executors. These are the executors used by protocols in remotes with MAXQ processors or the TI2541 processor. When one of these processors is selected in the Protocol Editor or RMPB, the Assembler and Disassembler tabs used by other processors are replaced by Analyzer and PF Description tabs. The Analyzer tab gives a detailed analysis of the selected executor. The PF Description tab shows documentation on the interpretation of the PF (Protocol Format) bytes that is more detailed than that in the analyzer. Note that protocols.ini includes no-repeat versions of certain protocols, primarily intended for use by Slingbox files. Due to the specialized nature of these versions, by default they are not loaded when RM or RMIR is opened. If you need these protocols, check the item "Show Slingbox protocols" in the Options menu of either RM and RMIR. These protocols will then be loaded in all subsequent invocations of RM and RMIR until this item is specifically unchecked.
