This is the first public release of RMIR v2.04. It is build 9 as there were eight previous builds for development and testing. As that indicates, this new version has substantial changes and additions. See the ChangeLog file included in the distribution for full details. The most major developments are that it supports three new interfaces, JP1.4N, JP2N and JP3.1, and a new processor, the Texas Instruments CC2541. It also now supports Simpleset remotes under Linux. Previously these remotes were supported only for Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. There are many new RDFs included and a number of bugs have been fixed.

As with all new versions of RMIR, as distinct from new builds of a current version, RMIR v2.04 build 9 is only available as a full installation package. Please note that for the installation to work correctly, this package needs to be unzipped into an empty folder that is not read-only. For a Windows OS this means, in particular, that it should not be unzipped into a subfolder of the Program Files folder. If you want to preserve your settings from an earlier version of RMIR then, after unzipping the package, copy the RemoteMaster.properties file from the installation folder of the earlier version to that of this new version.

Note that protocols.ini now includes no-repeat versions of certain protocols, primarily intended for use by Slingbox files. Due to the specialized nature of these versions, by default they are not loaded when RM or RMIR is opened. If you need these protocols, check the item "Show Slingbox protocols" in the Options menu of either RM and RMIR. These protocols will then be loaded in all subsequent invocations of RM and RMIR until this item is specifically unchecked.
