I found this program when searching for a lightweight music player and as advertised on the forum it is very lightweight and has the essentials you'd expect in under 6mb memory usage. Compiled the program is just 1 executable smaller than 1mb in size. I agree that nowadays memory and harddisk space are pretty cheap but compared to other programs like Songbird that uses 90mb memory (1500%) usage every little helps for those who multitask a lot.
