As the 2023 version of the ISO 9660 standard changed large parts of the structure of the document, many references that have been static since 1989 have no changed. For this reason, it was thought necessary to update the document accordingly. The previous README.TXT contents was: Version 1.5 is probably the final version of this document, unless any obvious error or ambiguities are found. Earlier releases have been removed. This is a presentation of the ISO 9660 file system, using a similar structure as Brian Carrier used in his book File System Forensic Analysis. It's not a ISO 9660 for Dummies text, or a cheat-sheet for ISO 9660 examinations: you do need to read the standard. But hopefully the document will help you navigate through a fairly complex standard without losing track of the larger issues.
