Is there a way to have the Start Menu look to a different location for its
contents? My Start Menu shortcuts are not on drive C.

    I worked out a
    solution
    for this.

Sorry, I try to respond to all posts but this one slipped through the cracks.

Have you tried right-click on the Start Menu or Programs folder, then go to
the Properties, then the Location tab, then Move? That's how you move system
folders like Documents or Music. I haven't tried it for the Start Menu, but I
expect it will work. It will update the registry as needed, no hacks required.

Also if you simply want to hook a SINGLE folder in the Programs menu item,
just remove the command that says "programs". This will disable the special
behavior required to support the system Programs folders and you can hook any
folder you want in the Link property.

AFAIK, Start Menu or Programs folders don't have that special property sheet
called Target. But TweakUI does have an easy to use GUI to move special
folders including Start Menu and Programs. Copy TweakUI.exe (version 2.10)
from an XP installation and run it as admin and in Windows XP/Server 2003
    compatibility mode.

Forgot to mention: Meaning you only set the new location using TweakUI. The
folders don't get moved automatically. After setting the new location, you
move the Start Menu and Programs folders to the new location.

    My solution resolves this. Thanks.
