This anti-virus is not very good. I can encode a metasploit payload with the default generators and it gets past it. It doesn't even detect the free crypters on HackForums.

ClamWin is a GREAT antivirus! Only downside is it doesn't have on-access scanning or URL scanning, but if you are somewhat experienced with computers and the Internet, you'll be fine if you scan files you download.

Great AV, fast, small footprint, however it does not YET contain on-access file scan (developers are working to change it - see ClamAV FAQ). Just install ClamSentinel which will fill that gap and provide real-time scan. IMHO ClamWin should be run with more elevated privileges - you can see notices in log files, that some files could not be scanned because of lack of permission - I didn't see it with other AV software. Anyway it is still better than any other AV as you can use it not only at home computers, but also in business with no cost! (GPL)

It works. It supports pretty much everything you can think of. It doesn't crash in the hands of a casual user.

Doesn't provides real time protection like commercial antiviruses, but anyway, for it's price (lol, it's zero) it is the best solution on the market. Thanks.
