Chromium OS build for Raspberry Pi
release highlights
- Optimized performance for enhanced efficiency and responsiveness
- r114 release with Chromium OS updated to release-R114-15437.B
Known issues
- Only supports Raspberry Pi 4B, Pi 400 and the latest Raspberry Pi 5; choose the corresponding release image accordingly.
- Linux subsystem will not work on this release - if you need to use Linux subsystem, check out openFyde for Raspberry Pi instead.
- No support for OS sleep, or it'd result in a non-recoverable state. Therefore it's necessary to install Keep Awake extension and always set it to Sunny Mode.
- The CJK IMEs are basic browser extensions that come with vanilla Chromium OS, not the ones shipped with Chrome OS. It's advisable to use Google Input Tools extension.
- The initial boot time takes longer; this is expected.
- Hardware-accelerated graphics for Linux subsystem (virgl) isn't supported yet.
- If you are connecting a MIPI camera module, the factory Camera app may not work properly. The camera should be fully functional within the Chromium browser.
