Chewalter Utilities 2013 I wrote these windows programs/scripts using AutoIT (http://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit). I wrote them to satisfy a need that I couldn't find on another freeware, so I'm sure these programs are not unique. Most of these programs are to be used in batch files in a "console" environment. These are the programs, a brief explanation of what they do and sometimes why I did it. - CleanFileName.exe: Deletes non-alpha characters in filenames. (I used to remove blank spaces, dashes, apostrophes, etc.) - CloseAllWindows.exe: This program will close all open Windows. (I had a program that will open dozens of DOS windows and I had to close each one individually). - CloseWindow.exe: Close a specific open window. - ConsoleProgressBar.exe: This program shows a fake progress bar in a DOS window (I use it when I run "silent" installations). - CreateRestorePoint.exe: It creates a restore point with an optional description (if it is disabled, it will re-enable System Restore). - DelTMPFilesAllProfiles.exe: It deletes files in the local temporary folders, deletes internet temporary files of all local user profiles and empties the recycle bin. - FolderWeight.exe: It reports the size of a folder and its subfolders. (good to know what folder is using your disk space.) - IsWinServer.exe: It detects if the OS of the current computer is a server. It returns a 1 if it is a Windows server or a 0 if it is not. - PleaseWait.exe: It waits or pauses for specific time. The time remaining is shown in seconds. - PleaseWait_2.exe: Same as PleaseWait.exe but the remaining time is shown in the format hh:mm:ss - RecreateWMP_DB.exe: It deletes the Windows Media Player database. So if your WMP database is corrupted, the easiest solution is to delete it. It will be automatically recreated next time you launch WMP. This deletes ONLY the database, not your files. - RemoteReboot.exe: GUI to remotely reboot a PC. - ReplaceTextManyFiles.exe: Replaces text in one or more text files. - RmPath.exe: Removes a folder or directory from the %PATH% environment variable. You may need a reboot to apply the changes. - SearchNReplace.exe: It searches and replaces text in a specific list of files. (I wrote this one when I had to replace several IP addresses in hundreds of INI and BAT files in a network drive.) - TurnMonitor.exe: It turns ON/OFF your monitor. - WBackup.exe: Backup based on compressing file[s] & folder[s] to one or more zip files. - WCLNL.exe: It turns On/Off CapsLock or NumLock on keyboard. - WCDR.exe: Basic CD tray operations, like eject, close and open. - WLockKBM.exe: Locks/Unlocks (Disable/Enable) keyboard and mouse. This is useful when you don't want users to cancel your installation, so you lock them, install your app. and then you unlock them. - WDetectVmware.exe: Detects if the current machine is VMWare or not. It returns a 1 if it is a VMWare or a 0 if it is not. - WMessage.exe: It shows a message in the middle of the screen. - WPing.exe: GUI ping. Ping an IP or a host name. - WProgressBar.exe: This program shows a fake progress bar. You can have one that it moves back and forth continuously, you can show a specific percentage and you can turn it off when you are done. - WRemoteReboot.exe: GUI to remotely restart or shutdown windows computers. You must have rights on the remote computer/server. - WRemoveFolder.exe: Force remove/delete "almost" any folder. - WSecDeleteFile.exe: Securely deletes file[s]. File[s] deleted with this script cannot be undeleted/recovered. - WSysInfo.exe: Shows basic HW and SW info in an excel spreadsheet. - WUninOracle.exe: This program will try to uninstall Oracle 11. A.K.A brute force Oracle uninstall/removal. - WUnitConverter.exe: It is like a calculator that shows the equivalent in metric system (do you want to know your weight in kilograms? How hot is 26 centigrade? - W_Version.exe: It returns the version of a specific file (not necessarily the application version.)
