The checkIn-checkOut plugin is a component for notepad++ to know who is busy to edit the file and avoid the overwrite of a shared file on network.
[*] Perform checkOut action for create the lock file with you username, who will prevent all other user who take ownership the file that you are to edit
[*] Perform checkIn action for free file and permit the modification by another user
When the user make the checkOut action, the plugin creates a temporary file in the same folder and with the same name but the .LOCK extension. This file contain the username of the person which has performed the checkOut action. The file will be deleted when the checkIn action will be made by the same user.

I’ve tried the latest version (1.55) of your checkIn-checkOut plugin for npp. This is very useful, but I’m missing heavily a (small?) feature: can you please add the machine name to the lock file? Reason: I would like to lock a file inside a samba share when I’m logged in with the same username in multiple systems. The following happens: • Open the file in system #1 • Lock file • Open the same file as the same user in system #2 • File is not locked on system #2 Other minor suggestions: • Auto-Lock files automatically on opening • Have an option to not display the user dialogs about locking Keep up the good work!!

Hi, thanks for your effort for the community. Could you provide more details about what the plugin does, please? Is it about the NppNetNote plugin of the Np++ or just about the file ownerships of the filesystem?
