  • Tired of fooling with this. Updated to Capitan and stopped working. Followed all advise. Disabled SIM. Uninstalled and reinstalled. All to no avail. The only good thing is I did not pay for this. As the old saying goes. You get what you pay for. I would gladly pay for something that works without having to jump through hoops to make it work.

  • I got this to work in OS X EL Capitan GM. Using Clover I put in what ever the "SIP" disabling it? In the config.plist. No expert at all ..just searched .. added it and rebooted and works great. At 1st would not work at all. But now .. it does
  • Quick & simple - just the way I like things.

  • According to a note that is included on the MacUpdate.com website, "OS X 10.11 requires that System Integrity Protection aka "rootless" be turned off during the initial install for SIMBL". However, this has not been my experience. Despite booting into OS X Recovery mode on my iMac running 15A235d and disabling SIP, cDock refuses to functional fully unless I keep SIP disabled after the installation, and even after a reboot. In fact, even with SIP disabled, and even though I have installed both the bundles and osax in BOTH my main library as well as my Home library -- to see if I could get it to work -- there are still some quirks. More specifically, the colorful sidebar refuses to work at all, and the osax repeatedly asks for admin authorization in order to do certain things with cDock. Yes, I am the admin of my machine. On the bright side, the menubar icon works, and the themes work as well -- if I leave SIP disabled. While I obviously understand that Apple is keen on security -- and for good reason -- I must say that SIP breaking both cDock and Bartender has soured me a bit on Apple's heavy-handedness. I am wondering if after sandboxing, with SIP, Apple may be going a little too far with security. For the record, in 25 years of working on Macintosh computers, I have been infected with a virus ONE time, and that was many years ago when I was young, a new computer user, and did something rather stupid. So basically, if I want a transparent dock, I need to disable SIP. What a choice! :(
  • It's back! Yosemite is poorer without cDock. Your dedication is much appreciated and gives pleasure to many. Thank you!
  • cDock, now is running again. Thanks to Wolf for the upgrade. Having the dock of Maverick is too good! Thanks, thanks, thanks !!!!!!! tullio

  • I have been using cDock for quite a while to create a transparent dock. It is broken with El Capitan. I eagerly await a fix / update for this really nice utility.
  • I love this app - it adds the 3D look to OS X Yosemite and that is how it should be, but having just updated to the newest OS X Yosemite Public Beta 4 - cDock isn't responding to any requests whatsoever... ...I hope there's a fix soon - keep up the sterling work you've all done! :)
  • Love the app but its broken in the lastest developer version 14E26a. Written many mails weeks ago but no answer.

  • I love having a clear dock. This is a great little app and does what it does very well. Thanks Mr Developer.
  • it's so helpful.
  • Works great, developer responds quickly to issues, makes my dock look shiny and (thankfully not so) new! What more could you want?
  • I think cDock has really got it right and has steadily improved with the newer versions. It is the best visual improvement for Yosemite that I have found.
  • nice
  • Been living without a transparent dock since Mavericks, I could get one myself manually yet didn't have the time to do it. This of course made it much easier, great little App.
  • YES! THANK YOU! TIP: The First four values in the Themes text files are RGB and A - customize away! <3
  • Don't submit bug reports as reviews. There is a ticket and discussion section for a reason. E-mail works too. Just updated for macOS Sierra!
  • SEPARATOR DOESN'T work,plis fix
  • Hi guys, Please could you help me. I don't manage to put a dark separator on my dock make with crock but he doesn't work fine for the moment (no separator in my dock...????!!!). Could you help me ton find a way to make that ?

  • This little app makes the dock transparent - avoids the ugly ugly ugly Maverick dock background. Seems to work beautifully, so far.
  • What I was looking for. Since the project is currently being worked on, I'd thought I'd make a quick suggestion and ask for black or white triangles underneath the icons instead of these glowing orbs . What about a way to install or customize other parts of the dock? One more note - breaks occasionally. Upon restarting or logging out of computer, will return to desktop only to find 3D dock back the way it was.
  • OMG thank you SOOOO much for this! I was looking for a way to get a transparent dock, and this definitely makes is quick and easy!! I appreciate it and the colored Finder sidebar icons as well!! :) Looking forward to more options in the future.
