First Win64 Release – Catpaq 13
This project has been renamed from Spakka to Catpaq.
The original name was a playful nod to the Italian word spacca, which carries two meanings:
- To extract, split, or break (as in handling an archive)
- Slang for excellent, awesome, or exceptional — e.g., “Questo software spacca davvero!”
However, Spakka can be considered offensive slang in English, something I didn’t realize as an Italian.
Since I also love cats, the project has been reborn as Catpaq.
Currently, the program is not released in source form yet, but I’m working on implementing MacOS and Linux versions.
It will take a bit of patience, but it will be a Lazarus project and therefore 100% open-source, without external components (or at least, I’ll try).
This is because some auxiliary programs are also needed (for example, to update the hashes).
In short, the entire chain for generating new builds needs to be published.
So please be patient — as I reiterate, the source code is not available yet.
This is only a temporary situation.
