Added
- The desktop app updates itself in one click. When a newer Caprock is
out, the status strip says Update to vX.Y.Z — Restart: it downloads
the new app with a progress bar while you work, checks its signature,
installs it and restarts, and everything comes back as it was: every
session still running (the app moves its own daemon onto the new version
without ending them), the same tabs in the same order, splits and their
sizes, the sidebar, the window, each terminal scrolled where you left it
and anything half typed into an agent. Nothing installs unless it is signed with Caprock's release key for
that exact version. On its first launch the app asks once whether to check
for updates automatically (the same release check as Settings → Privacy,
off unless you say yes); Check for Updates… in the app and tray menus
and in the command palette works either way. The macOS app, the Windows
installer and the Linux AppImage update themselves;
.deband.rpminstalls are told to use their package manager. Each release now carrieslatest.jsonand the signed update files. - A newer version announces itself in the corner. A card at the bottom right of the app says Caprock vX.Y.Z is available once per version, with Update and restart, What's new and Later, and shows the download's progress; the status strip keeps its line.
- View → Reload (⌘R) in the Mac app; F5 on Windows and Linux. Ctrl+R is left to the shell's history search, and F5 in a focused terminal still reaches the program in it.
Fixed
- The app no longer keeps the old UI after an upgrade. After
brew upgrade --cask, the app loaded its window from the previous daemon, then replaced that daemon with the new one and never reloaded: the window ran the old version's code, and the status strip named it, until the app was quit. The app now decides to replace its daemon before loading any page, and reloads the window and the menu bar popover if a replacement still happens under them. - A page reloads itself when its daemon is updated. The daemon names its version in the page it serves; when the live link comes back to a different one, the page reloads on the same screen — in the app, a browser tab or a paired phone. Typed terminal input is kept (it lives in the session). With text typed into an open sheet it offers Reload — Caprock was updated instead, and it never reloads twice for one version.
- A command that finishes fast keeps its last lines. Caprock closed a terminal the moment its process exited, so the final output of a short command could be lost (seen on Linux). It now reads the terminal to the end first, waiting at most two seconds.
