Added

  • A terminal-first workspace for the desktop app, at #/app (or ?app=1). A sidebar with what is waiting on you, then every project with its worktrees, sessions and shells, today's cost and status dots; terminal tabs per project that survive a relaunch; an inspector with cost, context, tokens, the permission prompt and the uncommitted changes; a status strip with the plan limits and today's spend. ⌘T a shell, ⇧⌘N an agent, ⌘O a project, ⌘1–9 tabs, ⌘W closes a tab without stopping its session, ⌘K a command palette. The dashboard opens inside it. Sessions in folders that are not a listed repository sit under Other folders; ⌘O clones with git's progress shown. The browser dashboard and the phone are unchanged.
  • Projects in the daemon. Caprock keeps a list of the projects you work in — seeded from the repositories your sessions ran in, plus any you add, create (git init optional) or clone — with each one's branch, changed files, ahead/behind, worktrees, live and waiting sessions and today's cost (GET /v1/projects). Git state follows a commit or checkout made anywhere within about a third of a second, by watching .git; idle projects run no git at all. A clone shows git's progress and carries on if the phone that started it drops. Unlisting a project never touches its files. The desktop app's sidebar shows it.
  • Worktrees on any branch. A worktree for an existing branch, a new one, or a branch only the remote has (created tracking it), under .caprock-worktrees; one with any change is never removed.
  • Shell tabs, engine side. POST /v1/shells starts your login shell in a project, held like an agent session so it survives a Caprock restart. A shell is in no total, card or count.
  • From the phone, a controller can add, create and clone a project under home and make or remove a worktree. Shells stay on the machine for now.
  • api_level in GET /v1/status and runtime.json, an integer raised by every API change a client must know about, so the desktop app (and later a bundled UI) can tell whether a daemon is new enough without parsing its version. runtime.json also records the daemon's executable path.
  • CAPROCK_SERVICE_LABEL runs caprock service install|uninstall|status under another label, so a second, isolated install (a preview, a test) never touches the real dev.caprock.daemon login agent.
  • The desktop app's shell in app/ (Tauri v2): it finds or starts the daemon and opens its dashboard in a native window. Built and tested in CI on macOS, Windows and Linux; make app runs it from a checkout.

Changed

  • Phone alerts are off until you switch them on. A Telegram bot saved for the weekly report started sending alerts by itself; now Settings → Phone alerts turns each kind on.
  • A terminal comes back from a dropped connection exactly where it was. When Caprock restarts, the network drops or a phone wakes, the terminal now picks up from the last byte it had instead of clearing and repainting, so what you scrolled back to stays put, and whatever you typed meanwhile is sent once it reconnects — never lost, never typed twice, even across a Caprock restart. It keeps trying for as long as it takes (it used to give up after a minute and ask for a reload), and a pill over the terminal says Reconnecting — your keys will be sent instead of a line written into it. Up to 4 KB of typing is kept while offline.

  • Lists no longer jump while you read them. Scrolled down the session timeline or the live activity feed, new rows arriving above keep your place, in Safari as in Chrome, and a pill says how many arrived.

  • Session cards tell same-named folders apart and say ended when ended. Two folders both called caprock now read Downloads/caprock and dev/caprock — the shortest path that tells them apart — on Now, the pulse and the app sidebar; the card leads with the session's title or first prompt, the short id after it. A folder that is not a repository, or a detached checkout, no longer shows HEAD as its branch. A session the daemon lists as ended never shows as idle.

Fixed

  • Gemini CLI is no longer labelled "your own key" in the agent picker. It also signs in with Google, so the note was wrong for most people.
