windows:
start CameraAxeRemote.exe

linux:
needs mono Framework installed (on ubuntu an apt-get install mono-complete mono-vbnc) was enough
run usermod -aG dialout <myuser>  (so your user is allowed to do remote connections via rs232)
start CameraAxeRemote.exe (directly if supported by example nautilus) or with an command line mono CameraAxeRemote.exe

on the first startup you will be asked for the comport at which the Cameraaxe is connected.
  the programm will give you a message which tells you if the connection successed.

CameraAxe:

needs an program with remote control extensions (can be uploaded with the gui)
you can compile on in the settings tab

now have fun and play arround
