Release: 2.0 Revised: Feb 5, 2013 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOU MUST BE RUNNING JAVA 1.7 OR ABOVE FOR THIS PROGRAM TO RUN PROPERLY IP Manager is designed to quickly change the IP Address of the host machine. There are also quick select options that can be used to quickly jump to frequently used IP Addresses. These quick select options are customizable. Since this program is designed to do an administrative function, it must be run as an Administrator in Windows Vista or above. Failing to run the program as an Administrator will result in nothing happening when the Apply button is pressed. This will look like a bug, but it is not. If the program does not start, confirm that you have Java version 1.7 or higher installed on your system. Also check the Java Control Panel to make sure that the settings are correct. If the program still will not run, delete the config.properties file that is located in the same directory as the program. There is no installer for this program. To run the program make sure all necessary files are in the same directory and open the IP_Manager_vX.exe program. This release contains the following files: - IP_Manager.exe - ReadMe.txt - config.properties NOTE: If the config.properties file is not present, the application will create a new one for you with the default ethernet interface named "Local Area Connection" If your interface has a different name, you will need to go into settings and modify it. To find out what the name of your interface is, open a command prompt and type "ip config" This will bring up all of the available interfaces, find the interface you would like to configure, and copy it's name into the settings of this program. Known Bugs: - Current IP does not always show the proper IP Address. This is a limitation of Java that I am trying to work around. Current IP will show the IP of the interface that is currently active. While the IP is changing, or if the cable is unplugged that could be any interface from the Wireless, to one of the virtual interfaces that Windows 7 creates. Version 2 Enhancements: - Added confirmation after Apply or Set DHCP buttons are pressed. - Added option to modify, add, and delete quick select options.
