Initially, this program is difficult. But after a month or so of consistently using it, you can use fairly easy. I went on YouTube and searched beginning blender tutorials and some really good ones came up. I'd recommend the Coffee Cup tutorial by tutor4u. It teaches the basic UI navigation and modeling. Awesome program. Love it. BTW this is an old version ((2.49). Go to the website: blender.org and download the latest one. At the time I'm writing this it's: 2.71.

I have seen people make amazing things with Blender, but it is extremely hard to learn. The Blender team should start thinking about ways to make it easy for beginners. Overall, I do not recommend this to beginners to 3D modeling.

I never used such a GREAT program like Blender. I needed some help the time I used it but I quickly learn and now I create amazing things in it. It should continue on developing.

This is a bit ominous when you're starting, but one you learn how to use it it's great.

blender is great but your links are old. try blender 2.63a of the blender website.

i didn't try it yet but i think that open souce 3d project is good idea
