The idea is bad from the start, it's a Ponzi Scheme in it's purest form.

Bitcoin was awarded to Bitcoin miners for the solution to a difficult proof-of-work problem which confirms transactions and prevents double-spending.

Great job! Thank you.

This seems to be a real technological breakthrough - they solved the 'double spend' problem without resorting to relying on a central authority!

Very useful project! Keep up the good work!

Great project. Worth taking a look at http://lovebitcoins.org to get an idea of how to use it. By far the most efficient way to pay for something online. How else could you securely send 0.5 USD to a friend 5000 miles away in less than ten minutes?

@Marie Mäklare - Illegal and stupid? You should really rethink your liberties and freedoms.

Very good in concept, but one fatal flaw... calling it the "gold standard" of internet currency... gold doesn't magically disappear, that can happen to bit-coins if people delete their own copies of their own bitcoins, lose passwords, etc. That wouldn't be an issue except that there's effectively the limit on possible existing bitcoins. System could be improved by the creation of new bitcoins being affected by the number of bitcoins that are currently circulating instead of the total that have been created.

This is a stupid idea to start with, probably illegal in most countries too.
