Bingo Cards (v 3.1.4) March 31, 2018 # Download BingoCards-3.1.4.zip and unzip in your computer. # Then install the APPROPRIATE .oxt for your system, the other versions will not work! # Install BingoCards-3.1.4.LibreOffice.oxt for LibreOffice (all editions) # Install BingoCards-3.1.4.AOO.v4.x.oxt for Apache OpenOffice (version 4.0 and more recent) # Install BingoCards-3.1.4.AOO.up.to.v3.4.oxt for Apache OpenOffice (up to version 3.4) # This is a CALC extension. Do NOT expect to find a difference in Writer, Draw or Impress! # Notice for LINUX users. If double click on the extension file do nothing then try open from LO menu (File -> Open ...) # Normally, if you install the correct version then you should have a new BIN GO button in the main button bar of Calc. # difference from v 3.1.3: Not appearing the empty message box when executed. # difference from v 3.1.2: Separate dialog in order to show in screen the large questions and answers in the interactive document. # difference from v 3.1.1: Enhanced examples dialog and various minor improvements. # difference from v 3.1.0: Enhanced dialog for bingo cards. What is it: - An Apache OpenOffice/LibreOffice extension with the purpose to create cards for Bingo game along with an interactive document to show/hide questions and answers. Supported languages - English, German, Greek, Portuguese, Spanish. Intended audience - Teachers / educators willing to provide exercises with fun! Why Bingo? - All students regardless of their ability in the subject have the same chance to win a fact that make them have a strong engagement in the procedure. Prerequisites - Installation of Apache OpenOffice or LibreOffice. What Operating Systems are supported; - Mac, Linux, FreeBSD, Windows. How to install this extension - Just double click the appropriate .oxt file for your system and follow the instructions. Preparation - Create a list of appropriate questions for the particular subject and class level along with the corresponding answers. How to use the extension 1. Press the BIN GO button in main Calc action bar. (If you do not find that button then make sure that you installed the correct version of that extension for your suite) 2. Put the list of the chosen questions in Column D from row 14 onwards. 3. Put the corresponding answers in Column C from row 14 onwards (do not leave blank rows). 4. Select “Create Bingo Cards” and made any corrections in the dialog that will appear. When ready proceed to create the cards and wait until the appropriate message appears. Then, go to the BingoCards Calc sheet and check the result. 5. Select “Create interactive document for the classroom” to create the dynamic Writer document. Don’t hesitate to save it for future use and close the application. The document is self contained! Give each student a card. 3. Show on the screen the interactive document containing all questions and corresponding answers as pairs of check boxes. 4. Directions to the students: a. A student will choose a question among those appearing in the document and the teacher will reveal the question/problem. b. The students will calculate/find/guess the answer. As they give the correct answer they cover the corresponding cell if it appears on their card. c. The procedure continues until a student gets all the answers in his table. d. When a student covers all the answers of his/her table then he/she call BINGO! and the teacher verifies that the claim is correct, in which case the student is the winner.
