Added

• Automatic update check on launch: App checks GitHub releases on startup and shows a toast when a new version is available. A blue dot badge appears next to the version label in the menu bar.
• Smart toast after capture: Toast now shows "Screenshot saved & copied!" when clipboard copy is enabled, or "Screenshot saved!" otherwise.

Improved

• Simplified capture flow: Screenshots always apply default settings and save directly — no more editor/gallery mode toggle. Just capture, auto-beautify, and save.
• Preview panel + toast: Both a toast notification and the floating preview panel now appear after taking a screenshot.
• Recent captures open in editor: Clicking a recent capture in the menu bar opens it directly in the editor.

Fixed

• Crash on window close: Fixed EXC_BREAKPOINT crash caused by setActivationPolicy(.accessory) during window teardown.
• Double background on editor open: Adopted a base-image sidecar pattern — the editor always loads the raw capture, making it impossible to apply background/padding/shadow twice.
• Editor & Settings opening on wrong desktop: Windows now appear on the current space instead of switching to the app's last-used space.
• 7 race conditions fixed: Comprehensive sweep across menu bar popover, editor window delegate, shortcut service, toast window, countdown overlay, preview overlay, and event monitor — eliminating crashes from concurrent access and stale references.

Removed

• Repeat Region shortcut: Removed unimplemented stub (Cmd+Ctrl+Shift+4) that just duplicated region capture.
• Screenshot mode toggle: Always uses gallery mode with auto-applied defaults now.
