Light and dark theme
The console follows the light or dark setting of the operating system. The moon button in the top bar (and on the sign-in page) switches between light and dark; the choice is remembered in the browser. Static files carry the version in their address, so browsers load the new ones right after an update.
The top bar is tidier: the language list, the theme button and Sign out have the same height, and on phones the bar no longer gets wider than the screen.
Japanese (and other non-Latin) names on Windows
Hyper-V VM names such as BackupZitサーバー_Debian13 were shown garbled (on Japanese Windows) or with ? in place of the letters (on other systems), which could also break VMs whose disk paths contain such letters. The agent now reads the Hyper-V information in UTF-8, and the output of job commands and driver injection is converted from the console code page. Thanks for the report in discussion [#5]. Update the agents to get the fix; VMs show their correct names after the next inventory.
Release candidates
New versions are first published as a pre-release and tested; only then do they become the official release, with the same files. The update source https://github.com/Max-Zit/backupzit/releases/download/testing always holds the newest candidate — for test consoles only. Consoles with the default update source only get approved releases.
Fix
- The storage forecast counted a day with a daylight saving change as 25 hours (1 GiB a day showed as 1023 MiB).
The user guide (Getting started → Light and dark theme; Installation → Updates) describes the changes in all 14 languages.
Update the console and then the agents (Agents → Update all).
Releases are signed with the BackupZit release key; consoles verify them before installing.
