New
- Microsoft 365 backup — a new job kind backs up Exchange Online mailboxes and OneDrive through Microsoft Graph. It needs an app registration with the read-only application permissions User.Read.All, Mail.Read and Files.Read.All; nothing in the tenant is changed. Any agent with internet access (0.34.0 or newer) downloads the data.
- Every mail folder is kept, and each message is stored complete with its attachments as an
.emlfile. - The first backup downloads everything. Later backups download only new and changed messages and files.
- Accounts: list them, or leave the list empty to back up every account with a mailbox or OneDrive, including accounts added later.
- When the job is saved, the console checks the app's sign-in, its permissions and the accounts.
- Restore: browse the backup and download messages and files, or restore them into a folder on any agent. The restore wizard has a separate Microsoft 365 mail and OneDrive type.
- Each tenant has its own repository on the storage target, so the agent that downloads can be replaced.
- See the new documentation page Microsoft 365.
Fixes
- Backup copy jobs of VMware ESXi VM jobs now read the source job's repository.
Releases are signed with the BackupZit release key; consoles verify them before installing.
