autorip 1.0

This is the obligatory README file. There's really nothing to
know.

INSTALLATION

1. Edit the first few lines of "autorip" to suit your needs. In
particular, make sure you enter correct paths to cdparanoia and
the mp3 encoder of your choice (I prefer Xing).

2. Put the "autorip" script anywhere you like.

USAGE

1. Start "autorip."

2. Insert a CD into your CD-ROM drive. Ripping and encoding will begin
   automatically.

3. Wait for your CD-ROM to eject your CD.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until supply of CDs is exhausted.

LICENSE

Though autorip is am embarassingly simple program, I nevertheless
release it under the terms of the GNU Public License. See www.gnu.org
for details.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Though I've heard good things about the latest incarnations of LAME, I've
always been partial to the Xing mp3 encoder for Linux (www.xingtech.com).
The Xing encoder has a number of advantages:
	- it's inexpensive.
	- it's relatively fast, and produces high-quality encodings.
	- Xing took a chance on porting their product to Linux, in
the days before doing so became fashionable. So we owe
	  them a little gratitude.
