Audacity is a great freeware audio editor, emphasis on freeware. Supports many/most audio formats (with ffmpeg plugin). Thumbs up!

Very useful tool. Quick & easy to do basic editing, conversion and capture concepts. Was the tool for editing & looping select segments of a song for my brother's wedding :)

great software, intuitive and easy to use and I have used several. Id love to see shortcut keys for the effects like fade in, fade out, normalize etc. and scripting so users could trim the dead space off of all files in a folder for example. I use this all the time and check for releases regularly. Thanks! Ill donate when I get a job! cheers

It's great, although it should also install the codec with it!

It should better the lag when playing and recording, I remember an old "cakewalk pro audio" did it great, but then new software can't record and play without lag... anyway a good project!

i tried to use this piece of s*** but havent gotten any where with it!

Works well - use it regularly to edit tracks and to transfer from vinyls. Simple and easy to use.

As someone who regularly needs to edit music tracks for use in presentations, Audacity has rapidly risen to the top of my 'go-to' tool list: it is just as complex or simple as my needs require every time!

Excellent. I'm in the midst of converting many MIDIs to MP3 and Audacity is working excellently at polishing them once converted and letting me correct some things. I'm very pleased with it.

Great program to cut work on audio tracks. Opensource freeware, easy to use and stable!
