A bug-fix release: the widget set-up screen on phones that enforce Android 14's background-start rule, archived apps that keep their place, clocks that follow the minute and the time zone, and a long list of smaller fixes. Updating keeps your layout, widgets and settings.
Fixed
- A widget's set-up screen opens on phones that enforce Android 14's background-start rule, such as Samsung One UI (#15). Thanks to @photonsphere-org for the diagnosis and the fix (#14).
- An archived app (Android 15 and later) keeps its home icon and its place in a folder; it used to be swept away as uninstalled at the next start.
- Edit on an app a second time no longer shows the old icon, and saving a new name no longer wipes the icon you just picked — on the home screen, in the dock and in the app drawer.
- The clocks: the status bar clock turns with the minute and is right the moment the screen comes back; the big clock, the next alarm and the event time follow a time-zone or 12/24-hour change at once instead of up to an hour later.
- Home comes back on the page you left after the launcher restarted in the background, not on page 2.
- The app drawer: HOME takes the drawer's dialogs and sheets with it; closing the drawer any other way drops the search and its keyboard; an icon half under the grid's top edge starts its drag under the finger; no "No results" flash on the first letter of a search.
- Pages and the dock: removing an empty-looking page keeps pinned shortcuts that are only hidden because the launcher is not the default home; an uninstalled app's dock favourite goes with it, so a reinstall can no longer push the last dock icon off the dock and off home; a page removed during the HOME turn no longer leaves the pager between pages.
- Status bar: Android 11 shows the Wi-Fi level and band (the glyph was always red); the VPN key and the Data Saver glyph update on their own.
- Backup: two folders that both held the same app restore one home icon; an export over an older, larger file no longer keeps the old file's tail; the Backup and Hidden apps pages survive rotation; a phone without a documents picker gets a message instead of a crash; a malformed share intent can no longer crash the launcher.
- Smartspace: today's all-day event no longer disappears hours early west of UTC; a weather reading nothing could refresh for three hours is dropped.
- And: a full disk no longer crashes the launcher after every app launch; a dismissed permission dialog no longer jumps to the app's system page; the "default launcher" row refreshes when you come back; the first-run dock seeds the real dialer activity; a contact avatar shows an emoji initial whole.
- The launcher's data is excluded from device-to-device transfers as well as cloud backup, as the privacy policy says.
Changed
- The dock background slider moves in 5 % steps with a percent readout and a chip back to the default, like the status bar's.
- The installed version is shown at the bottom of Settings.
