Your own icons for apps and folders, lock and unlock sounds, and apps that open with a zoom from their icon. Updating keeps your layout, widgets and settings.
Added
- Your own icon and name for any app. The long-press menu's Rename is now Edit: tap the icon to pick another — any icon of an installed icon pack (the pack's own match for the app first) or a picture from your gallery, cut to your phone's icon shape. The icon shows everywhere the app does. An open folder has the same icon button beside its name. Reset to default brings back the app's own name and icon. Icons from a pack travel in a backup; gallery pictures stay on the phone.
- Lock and unlock sounds (Settings ▸ Sounds, off by default): a sound of your own for locking and for unlocking, from a file (mp3, wav, ogg, …) or the phone's own sounds. Played at the system sounds volume, cut at 3 seconds with a short fade, and never in silent or vibrate mode, in Do not disturb or during a call.
- Apps open with a zoom from their icon — on the home screen, the dock, in folders, the app drawer and its search — as in Pixel Launcher.
- Restore a backup with Open with or Share from a file manager or another app; ARK asks before it restores. A backup the phone's storage provider won't let ARK read gets clear advice instead of an error.
Changed
- Status bar icons (clock, battery, signal) follow what is behind them — the wallpaper, ARK's own status bar or the open app drawer — instead of the phone's light or dark mode (#11). The status bar background's darkness reads as a percent, 0–100 % in 5 % steps, with a chip back to the 60 % default.
- An icon's menu opens as soon as the icon lifts under your finger — no need to let go (#12).
- The app drawer opens with a soft top edge: rounded corners and a shadow that square off as it opens, and the home screen dims behind it.
Permissions: one new install-time permission without a prompt, HIDE_OVERLAY_WINDOWS: while the restore dialog for a backup opened from another app is shown (Android 12+), other apps' overlays are hidden so none can cover or trick it. The privacy policy is updated.
