  • Well, I've been testing and searching through (open and closed) development frameworks for some time and I can say that Aribaweb has the potential to be one of the best. In my opinion, there is nothing (open) out there that matches the MetaUI tool. I would even be prepared to learn Groovy/Java to use the back end. However, here's why I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. 1. Loads of activity in the first 2/3 years (from 2009) and now a dribble 2. Web site not maintained 3. Links failing 4. IDE integration way out of date 5. Videos 5 years old (and more) 6. Documentation not fit for purpose considering the back end work 7. Only one voice seems to be answering any questions What's incredibly frustrating is that with some extra work producing a "MetaDB" add-on (using Aribaweb itself, why not?) then the need for back end hacking would be even more minimal. Maybe Ariba (the company) have already done that and are keeping quiet about it.
  • It is strange to me at year of 2014 to advertise framework that has not supporting javascript. I paying attention of the ariba web markeing people that the reality is different. People living on the planet Earth after December 2012 (the HTML5 date of birth) have focused on using javascript, because that is the way to make cheaper web applications with less loaded servers and network trafic.
