  • A revived project has been created at pacbang-linux.org with documentation at pacbang.org
  • Carl did an excellent job! Even though it is over 3 years old PacBang 2016-04 64 bit works perfect to an encrypted partition with a separate boot partition. Once you get your repositories updated with new addresses (could use from an existing Arch install), update your keys, then your installed software your good to go. Install your favorite DE, keep or delete openbox, install your favorite login manager, yay and pamac and your as pure Arch as your going to get anywhere. Then some rainy day you can install the "real Arch" the way it was meant to be done. Have fun ...
  • is this project dead?
  • best
  • Excellent!
  • Thanks.. First time is a bit difficult.
  • I installed Arch today with Architect installer and it was perfect. I only have one request, please add en_IN.UTF-8 locale in the Locale Selection list in the installer, this is important to me and many others in India, at present it is not displayed in the locale selection list. Thanks for your efforts in making this installer.
  • mate good job, it was a pleasure to be part in the translation :)
  • Hi Carl, I just installed Pacbang yesterday and am already becoming quite enthused with it! Thank you for all the time and attention you've offered to myself and others; I imagine distro development must be very challenging at times. While I'm curious to install Arch 'the offical way' someday—for the learning experience—at the moment having a fast working system with fresh packages better suits my needs. Thank You! —Kevin—

  • Damn, I loved this project, and now that I do?
  • Architect was a good project, but it is dead. RIP
  • What can i say? Carl Duff has done a great job with the Architect installer. It installed arch linux perfectly on my machines and I'm happy with it. Have had lots of help with setting up things like how i want them and people were kind to me. Thanks for doing such a great job!

  • Please add a warning when home is in a separate partition. I share(d) my home partition with about 10 more distros and Architect just erased shamelessly 300 GB of data when I told it to mount my home partition. There's no need to format home and there should be a warning anyway if Architect needs to do so. Luckily I had a backup of my docs, but I have to reset all the config files of my other users' OSes. Architect is a nice project, please keep improving it.
  • Thank you thank you thank you for maintaining this. Just what Ive been needing. even better than making my own .iso. Much easier than building from Bang. For those of us that keep playing around and screwing up everything its a life saver.
  • originally I could not get this to work properly (issues with installing the graphics correctly). as of the first week of february 2016 everything worked perfectly. this is such a phenomenal concept and I wish the creators of this project to continue this for as long as arch linux exist. stellar job!
  • Great stuff
  • Can't wait till luks dm-crypt get added to this installer
