About
-----
AQAM is an automated quality assurance mechanism for comparing OpenDocument (ODT) against Word (.doc) documents. AQAM checks the quality of conversion from the original Word document to the resulting ODT document. The original document is first converted to PDF and then converted to a PNG image. Once these conversions are complete, an automated visual comparison is done which provides a numeric result. A numeric value of zero would imply an exact match, where a higher number would imply greater differences between two documents.

License
-------
AQAM is released under the General Public License version 3.

Requirements
------------
The input original document must be in Word (.doc) Binary File Format. The input original document must not be password protected. The input original document must not be of a format which is blocked by default by MSWord. The input converted document format must ODT-Format. The input document ID must only contain characters in the ranges: a-z, A-Z, 0-9 and the _ character.

During the process both input documents are rastered into bitmaps. The full bitmap representation of both input documents must fit into memory. Future versions may remove that limitation.

After sending a message with a document ID, the same document ID must not be used before receiving the respective response with that document ID. The software is developed for systems with:

     64bit Intel processors
     multiple cores
     virtualization capabilities
     16GB memory

The software is developed for running on:

    Fedora release 16 (64bit)

The software requires:

    ActiveMQ
    Node.js
