AppGrabbit 3.2.0 for Windows 10/11

Download AppGrabbitSetup.exe (109 MB, everything included). The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows shows "Windows protected your PC": click More info and Run anyway, or verify the checksum below. The app updates itself afterwards.

Installs on top of 3.1.0; your license, library and settings are kept. The app marks what is new with a "New" tag where it lives and clears it as soon as you visit.

What's new

• Credits instead of a wall. Free no longer has per-feature caps: you get 5 credits a month and each video, batch (up to 10 links), transcript or converted file costs 1. When you hit 0, the app lets you claim 1 more every 48 hours (good for a day), right where you were about to use it. The counter is always at the top, every button says what it costs, and License › Credits shows the month, what 1 credit buys and your history. Thumbnails, Watch, Library and updates don't use credits. Pro and the 7-day pass don't use credits at all.
• The converter opens to Free. Converting a file costs 1 credit; it is no longer Pro-only.
• Transcribe any video, with or without captions. If the video has captions, the text comes out instantly as before. If it doesn't, the app transcribes the audio on your PC with a speech-recognition engine (whisper.cpp) downloaded once from Settings › Transcription: two models, Fast and Accurate, with their size, how often they get a word wrong and how long they take on your computer, in plain words. With an NVIDIA card, 10 minutes of video take about 30 seconds; on the processor alone, about 2 minutes. The engine skips music and silence and doesn't invent "subtitle credits". Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
• Transcribe on my PC even if it has captions. A switch in the Transcript tab, for when YouTube's automatic captions are poor. The language is detected automatically and can be fixed.
• Your own files. Drop a recorded class, a meeting or a voice note (mp4, mkv, mov, webm, mp3, m4a, wav, ogg, opus…) onto the Transcript tab, or pick it, and you get the same .txt with the prompt and the .srt, named after the file. The queue shows Audio · Transcribing · Saving and can be cancelled at any step.
• "New" where the new things live. When you enter this version you'll see the tag next to the Transcript tab, in Settings › Transcription and in License › Credits, plus a dot in the menu; they clear on their own when you visit.
• Extension 1.4.1. The popup shows your credits and the button says "Grab · 1 credit".

Fixes

• YouTube captions. YouTube renamed the original automatic track; the app finds it again (and if there is none, it transcribes on your PC).
• Queue order: what you just downloaded stays at the top.
• License › Credits: the history lives in its own scrolling box without stretching the card.
• Automatic-caption text is no longer de-duplicated when the transcript comes from the engine.
