  • I eventually got this installed an running, but it was a huge process. The other comments are correct. You'll get an error of missing mclmcrrt.dll if you just run the program. I found that this was part of the matlab compiler toolbox for version R2007a of matlab. The install text document says to download the matlab compiler runtime from some website, but that link is dead. So what I did was download matlab version R2007a from MATLAB. Unfortunately, R2007a (other than it being paid software) won't install on windows 10. It'll get stuck at the place where you have to enter a license key. I ended up getting the license key code directly from matlab through my university's license, but the "Next" button doesn't work after you type in the license key because apparently, Win 10 is just not compatible with R2007a. Apparently, it works on windows XP. So I downloaded a win XP VM (or just go to your old Win XP box) and installed the 32-bit version of matlab R2007a there, along with installing the matlab compiler toolbox. Then, follow the instructions in the matlab forum post titled "Why do I receive an error regarding missing mclmcrrt7x.dll when I run my stand-alone application compiled with MATLAB Compiler?" (links not allowed here) for installing the R2007a runtime environment and mcrInstaller.exe. Once that's installed, make sure you RESTART Win XP. You should be able to run Aparat then. Once it's installed, there are no instructions or explanations, and I have no idea what I'm looking at. There are a lot of graphs. Does anyone have a reference manual or usage notes for this piece of software? I'll go look things up, but it'd be much faster if someone who knows what they're doing just posts an explanation here. I just want to get a glottal pulse waveform with no extra formants other than the fundamental. Thanks to the authors, and good luck on your installation! Edit: an hour later, I found the updated Aalto Aparat program that is essentially version 2 of this. see research.spa.aalto.fi/projects/aparat/
  • Hi, would love to use it for my research. However I can't get the link as given in the install.txt file for the installer..........The requested URL /software/aparat/MCRinstaller_2007a.exe was not found on this server. Please help..........
  • I am trying to run Aparat but it appears the MCR required is no longer stored in the same place as listed in the install file. It is also no-longer distributed by Matlab online as it is an older version. Where can I get the dll file so I can run the code?
  • TKK Aparat is an amazing software for inverse filtering tasks with DAP modelling; a lot of features, very intuitive and free of charge. It lacks only some documentation, although there is a paper, published in Logopedics Phoniatrics Vocology in 2008, which presents the software quite well.
