  • I have managed to get this to work in Windows XP using a workaround. First of all, I am using XP 64-bit. Some instructions here my not be needed for XP 32-bit. I found when installed on my 64-bit system in "C:\Program Files (x86)\AnySpell", it would not work. When running the installer: Install AnySpell in the "C:\AnySpell" directory. Also change the dictionary directory to "C:\AnySpell". Do not follow the "readme.txt" instructions; the URL is way out of date. Also, the default dictionary install path did not work for me. Download a dictionary from: download.services.openoffice.org/contrib/dictionaries/ There are many languages and readme.txt files here to choose from. For example: en_GB.zip is a British dictionary. en_US.zip is the American dictionary. Unzip the dictionary file into the folder "C:\AnySpell". I am only using AnySpell in Notepad. But my 64-bit Notepad does not work. I had to copy across a 32-bit Notepad File Version: 5.1.2600.5512 to get it to work. Run the AnySpell Manager. Enable Spelling. Make sure the Default Dictionary is showing a language. Open Notepad and type.
  • It simply does not work on my Windows XP SP3 machine. I copied dict-en.oxt to the Anyspell program directory and indicated it's location in the GUI, then I ticked every option and rebooted. I opened Anyspell and then typed misspelled words into Wordpad. It did not spell as I typed and when I highlighted misspelled words and right clicked an Anyspell context menu did not appear. Maybe there is a missing dependency for which I was not alerted.
  • Great idea, and I really need this program! WIN XP: Issues: It works on a fresh reboot in Notepad, but once I open Outlook 2003 SP3, it doesn't work in Notepad anymore. It never works in Outlook at all, even after a fresh boot, this is where I need this ideally. Any hints or idea when this will be available/fixed?
