To setup this, you need to setup PXE boot in VirtualBox.

You can boot to recovery mode using ramdisk-recovery.img and kernel. After that, you can flash update.zip in recovery mode.
After the update.zip is flashed to disk, you can boot up the system using kernel and ramdisk.img.

initrd.img              - ramdisk for the first stage boot
ramdisk.img             - Android ramdisk
ramdisk-recovery.img    - Android ramdisk for recovery
kernel                  - Android kernel
update-x86vbox-ch14.zip - recovery package for chapter 14
