  • I was not able to run ALCI ISO XANMOD from USB drive with rufus, but xorg would not start it stops with an linux kernel error , also alci-iso-zen was able to use the garude based zen kernel versions but using rufus with alci-iso-zen to USB it had mounting problems, not sure if its the app I used in windows to USB drive for the iso but something went wrong with it, since during startup it said something about the mount point being the wrong type. but archlinux-2023.03.12-x86_64.iso from alci-iso-hardened using rufus windows software to load iso image to USB drives did work and I was able to run it on my old gigabyte desktop and gpt and UEFI runs just fine, I don't know why one would bootup but the other one gets stuck on USB drive bootup. 3D card is an Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 and Gigabyte G1.Assassin 2 (rev. 1.0) Intel® X79 Chipset motherboard hardware with ddr3 memory in this older desktop of mine. the hardened one using the plasma seems to run but not the Xfce4 based one, it stops before trying to load Xorg but the plasma iso image loads Xorg and bootup the desktop under my USB drive, I don't burn iso linux images to DVD-R or DVD-RWs anymore, and I would think that these iso images are or should be more design to run from USB drives unless I am wrong about that? I like the idea of this but for me Gnome is better to have as a desktop than Plasma or KDE , I got an 4k monitor and it defaults to 3840 x 2160, in the display settings for gnome you can scale it all from 100 to 200, and keep the resolution of 4k , my new monitor supports HDR, and is a gigabyte M28U my newer pc is connected to Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070, not running linux from bootup on that one yet, since I got a lot of pc games that run better in windows like all my epic games and such, my older gigabyte desktop I have an intel i7 , new one using Intel i9 , and I plan to run this under virtualbox first before I install it to my older pc, but also for whatever the reason I liked the gnome it looks better on laptops and desktops for some reason plasma doesn't display on 4k as well as Windows 11 or Gnome does, I tried so far a few distro's like arcolinuxb gnome and calam-Arch-installer and Garuda and manjaro ones, also used ubuntu before, but I do like the Arch based linux, I used gentoo before in the past but its been years, since and I never liked how its package system worked to install all updates if I recall it had to download compile and then install them under gentoo which is why I didn't like it since it took hours and hours of my time to do so. also I like grub boot loader but I also tried Systemd-boot from pop linux, it does seem like it runs faster, also linux formats between ext4 and resizerfs and such I don't really sure which is best or better I know some of the arch distros have different formats and even the encryption option now in the installer, but not sure as a home user if I really sure or do need that running each time I want to bootup linux on my older pc. just not sure about that feature as a pc gamer if I need to really use that. also I had to manualing look up how to fix the blutooth not loading in gnome in bootup on my last install of arch linux, I had to renable it, to use my blutooth earpods since blutooth was not working but that was with Calam-Arch-Installer-2023-04.iso , not this one as far as I know. since I am downloading its images now to check it out, again I selected the gnome desktop with the above iso and again the blutooth on my older gigabyte with intel i7, ddr3 etc.. was not working by default but in both garuda and manjaro it works, but the whole point in trying the other options is to get a more pure install of arch with working blutooth features, but in any case its a bug I guess that's not been fixed in the Calam-Arch-Installer on sourceforge that not been fixed yet.which again I need working for my blutooth headphones and sound devices like my blutooth earpods. below is how I fixed it edited the URLS but sources to fix it on under this **superuser.com/questions/908462/getting-bluetooth-to-work-in-arch-linux#:~:text=If%20you%27re%20running%20Arch%20you%27ll%20want%20to%20install,to%20start%20at%20boot%3A%20sudo%20systemctl%20enable%20bluetooth** If you're running Arch you'll want to install bluez and bluez-utils. Both are available from the official repositories. So just execute: sudo pacman -S bluez bluez-utils Then start the bluetooth service with: sudo systemctl start bluetooth And if you'd also like bluetooth to start at boot: sudo systemctl enable bluetooth Follow the full instructions on the Arch wiki here. For help using the bluetoothctl command.
  • KDE Plasma сделайте ISO
  • ALCI is a FANTASTIC way to install Arch Linux with an intuitive installer.
  • Never been able to get anything but a blank screen with a roll of numbers across the top. No terminal ? No Calamares either :(
  • Perfect Project!
