Well, it is time for another release, this one mostly being a bugfix release.
I am going to tweak the cmake system to make sure that it does not set
the default input or output to a non-existent backend, but unless
there are any other things I missed the release is ready in git now.
2.4.3 (15 Jun 2012)
- Non-session manager support
- Midi aftertouch support
- Documentation additions
- Somewhat more sane Nio defaults
- Misc bug fixes
Some of the todo items from the 2.4.2 release are still not done, but
they should make it into the next one.
- Currently some of the PADnote wave generation code executes in the
backend, generating significant latency when it happens.
This was done to support regeneration of samples when using a midi
bank select, but execution really needs to be moved to a worker thread
to avoid the current issues.
- As noted on the tracker, a window icon really should be displayed
- One recent patch on yoshimi is the legato midi control patch, integrating
this/remaking the feature should be simple.
Sometime in the near-ish future, I should send some followup
information on the UI re-skinning done by J.Liles, which targets the
NTK toolkit over FLTK, but for the most part they are compatible, so a
fltk-1.3/ntk cmake option should be possible.
Let me know if there are any showstopper bugs/issues that I have
overlooked before the release (planed for tomorrow).
