An Idea came to me that a DC offset for an oscillator in AddSybth could be an interesting creative tool - DC offset would change the way distortion affects the signal, making symmetric distortion assymetric, allowing for interesting things to happen.
This might also be a feature created instead of the standard oscillator and nosie source - a DC generator. The DC could be processed with LFOs and Envelopes to change it's volume dynamically, mixed with other voices and distorted - it could create interesting effects. It could also be used to create spikes to spice up bass or drum sounds.
Of cource after the DC offset has made it's work in a distortion unit, it has to be removed with a steep highpass filter.
This functionality has been added in git and it should be available in the next 3.0.0 beta. It seems to work quite well with DC oscillator + decay env + moderate lfo + mono/legato + high drive distortion.
Great! I can't wait to try it out!
