After updating my insignia infocast 8 to the offline firmware, at random times throughout the night, my chumby will reboot and go back into the widgets screen, taking it out of night mode. Is this a known issue and is there something I can try to fix it.

looks like the wifi card is going -- see the last few lines.
move the unit closer to the wifi AP, boost the signal or replace the usb wifi stick in the unit.

That makes sense it is pretty far from my ap. I've needed to put in a repeater but never had issues with the chumby. I'll put up the repeater this weekend and let you know.

I had similar problems with random booting, but the reason was a bad SD memory card. I found out that I could not even read it fully with dd. I replaced the card and have had no reboots ever since. Before it happened almost every night.
