[Zsnes-main] video mode linux ?!

got the following problem with linux zsnes:

after compilation i try to start zsnes :

Could not set 512x448 video mode


I tried all video modes in the config file, but the errors stays..what 
to do ?


using redhat 8.0 (gcc 3.2)
