Just got the new version of BSD and tried to compile zsnes (ver. 1.35_ from the port directory. While this appearently worked, 2 ROMs (secret of mana 1 and 2) which worked with previous zsnes versions kept crashing and giving the error "Segmentation fault: SDL parachute deployed." While trying to compile a newer version, I kept getting an error that sdl-config didn't exist in PREFIX/bin, though I had SDL installed. The filename on my release is actually sdl11-config (ver. 1.2.4). I was able to correct this by simply editing the references in the configure script to point at the correct filename. I have compiled zsnes 1.36, and it seems to be error free; I'm just mailing this in in case anyone else has the same problem. The offending lines in the config script are pretty easy to identify and edit. I just edited the reference to the file, and left all the other environment variables alone. As for why compiling the original port went so smoothly, even though it couldn't find sdl, I'm not sure. I may have done a "make install clean," but I'm not sure. I checked the config file on that release, it references the same sdl-config file, which doesn't exist on my computer, so...I dunno. Anyways, I'm out. Congrats to all the coders for another great release. _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com |
