ImageMagick ( @ sourceforge ) is used for import other image types than openCV can do (for example camera raw).
Without ImageMagick you can read:
internal processing:
The bit depth per plane can 8 or 16 bit. For normal RGB images results in a color depth from 24 (like jpeg) or 48 bit (like camera raw).
But the calculation time and memory consumption rises with 16 bit per color.
pre-scale filtering:
Up to this size the filters work on original scale. The software automatically switch to post-scale filtering mode, if the zoom area and the shown image size is higher. The yellow rectangle in the navigator window turns to red.
The usable max texture size for pre-scale filtering depends on your gfx/hardware configuration. First, try the next upper value compared to your screen resolution. For orienation, this, or the double is a good value.
High values can result in a program crash. The most memory expensive configuration for testing is a full view of a big sized image (related to the max. textursize setting) + unblur filter and configured for 16 bit internal procsssing. If you try to find the maximal upper value on your machine for this setting, you dont need to wait for finish the unblur filtering process, if the progress displaying right.
area dragging:
The third power option concerns area dragging or zooming. If the visible area is larger then the second texture size option, you can disable none/some/all filters while actions dragging or zooming. The Option "none" is not recommended. The Preset "some" / "always" skip filters based on mesured calculation-time on any zoom factor (size of area). Normally you dont need do touch this settings.
Pick the file path to ImageMagic's convert program.
Import density is for rasterizing file types like text or pdf files. This works on Linux. The Windows version is out or need more support (ghostscript?)
Notes for Windows: Install the ImageMagick dll-version package type. The static bundle does not contain the "convert.exe". During setup the program, mark the checkbox "Install legacy utilities (e.g. convert)" .
language:
change the program language (DE/EN) - needs program restart.
save filter list:
The program can save the filters on exit and restore them on next start as "autosaved" filter set.
command line option | function |
---|---|
zoomenhance -c | delete all saved settings (restore default) |
zoomenhance -e | empty autosaved filter list (and start) |
zoomenhance -m | multiple program instances (opens new windows) |
zoomenhance | show file in running instance, or start a new one if none exist |
