Friends,
I have written an article on some of the rudiments of cross-platform
software development. "Writing Cross-Platform Software - Getting
Started" is at
http://www.byteswap.net/mikesnotes/2002/getting-started/
I plan to write more columns regularly, covering all aspects of portable
and cross-platform development, exploring the architecture of frameworks
such as ZooLib, AbiWord and Mozilla, and so on. http://www.byteswap.net/
will also have a links and resources page for finding info and software
related to cross-platform programming, that will be driven by a web
database.
I'm very interested to know what people think of the article.
Also you will see it was published in DocBook HTML. I got DocBook
working on my Debian PowerPC mac a while back, but when I upgraded to
debian unstable, everything broke. I had to understand what I was
really doing to get it working again. My next bit of writing will be to
resume the ZooLib manual, I promise.
Best,
Mike
