On Slackware disk #4, in the contribs directory, is a package called sgmltools.tgz. You can also find it at "ftp.slackware.com/pub/mirrors/slackware/slackware-8.0/contrib". It has everything you need except the XML version. I also believe that XEmacs included psgml by default as well (I don't know about Emacs though). If you ever go back to Slackware keep it in mind.
