#88 Returning from screen saver alters desktop view

I have different config settings for the desktop and for
the screen saver. When the screen saver kicks in, it
displays correctly. When I return to the desktop after
logging in (saver configured to lock desktop), there are
artifacts from the screen saver. If I use the 'refresh'
option, it blanks out the desktop to black (the way it is
on the s.saver mode)
