Could you somehow automatically detect or provide a
timer setting for refreshing ZMatrix's internal copy of the
desktop background? I have another program running
(xearth) that dynamically changes the desktop, and
when this program refreshes the destop bitmap ZMatrix
needs to take a new copy.

Love your work,
Carl.

    Hey Carl,

Definately a good suggestion... But more of a bug than a
feature request really. ZMatrix should detect background
switches and deal with them appropriately. That way you
could unload background switching functionality to a
seperate program that is better suited to the task. I'm
shifting this over to the bug tracker.

    Thanks for the report/request.

I'm experiencing something like this too and I was asked to
add details here. When I change the background image,
Zmatrix doesn't pick it up. Even if I right-click Zmatrix and
Refresh, it still doesn't pick up the new background.

I'm using Windows 2000 SP2, ActiveDesktop is enabled.

I've tried loading new backgrounds that are in BMP format,
also JPG, etc. After changing the background while Zmatrix
is running, if I then exit Zmatrix, it shows the old background
again. If I change the background while Zmatrix is not
running, and then launch Zmatrix, the new background is
used (that's the only workaround I have).

    HTH,
    dave
