#21 Colors not displaying correctly on trails

When I select foreground colors, the character trails
don't change properly. For instance, if I select a light
green, the trails turn dark purple. If I select a blue, they
turn brown.

    Hey,

This might just be a configuration issue. ZMatrix in its
default install will blend with your existing background...
if your existing background is a solid color, it will seem
as though the trail colors are being drawn in an incorrect
color... Try changing your "Background Mode" in the
configuration dialog to "Color" instead of "Bitmap", and let
me know if that fixes the problem you're seeing.

I had no wallpaper being displayed. But when I changed the
background color to black instead of slightly great, the trails
became uniform in color. What I would like to have is dark
green trails with brite white leader characters, just like in the
movie. Do you know what config would accomplish this?

(Prev post should read GREY instead of GREAT.)

Try these configuration parameters (if you have problems
setting them up, i could send you a .cfg file which can be
placed in a particular location on your machine that would
    change the configuration):

    Foreground Color: White
    Background Color: Green

    Background Opacity: Transparent
Background Mode: Bitmap or Color (makes a difference, so see
    which you prefer)

This caused the desired changes, except that now most of
the screen is filled with a green solid color everywhere there's
not a character. I'd attach a screen shot, but it won't let me
    do that in a reply.

Are you sure background opacity is set to transparent?
    Email the screenshot to zmatrix_background@hotmail.com

And if possible, contact me via MSN/Yahoo messenger.

Yep, sure is. If I change it to opaque, the background only
turns a solid green behind the characters themselves. Do you
have an instant messenger screen name or an email addy
where we could work on this?

Based on a debugging session with the reporter of this
problem, it was determined that the fundamental problem has
to do with the fact that the fade-out color for the matrix
streams is also used as the clean-up color... But in order
to achieve the look that this user was aiming for, it was
required that the fade-out color of the streams be different
than the clean-up color. A temporary solution was achieved
by using the desktop background color to modify the stream
fade-out color (under bitmap blending mode), but this also
caused the foreground ZMatrix color to have to be changed
(because it is also blended with the desktop color)...

In the end, the desired look was achieved, but it does bring
up a flaw in the configuration options... You should be
allowed to choose a fade-out color that is different than
the cleanup color. Something that should be considered for
    the next version...

This bug has been addressed, and version 1.4.6 should resolve the
    bug.
