And what about another possibility, I mean, possibility of attaching pre-recorded mp3 files, like in mnemosyne so they would be played/read while displaying pronunciation characters (hiragana, katakana). Don't you find it a useful feature?

Please don't post into different tracker items about the same (or very similar) topic the next time.

Allowing mp3 to play for entries is of course a useful feature. If you know of a freely (and legally) available source of native speakers saying dictionary words I'll be more than happy to implement this. If there is no such source (and I suspect there isn't), there are several other useful or even required changes that must be implemented which would benefit a lot of people instead.

I won't drop this idea, but you have to understand that it might take a very long time till I get to this, which might be too late for you already.

Hello, I would be interested in this too. You could try to implement Awesome TTS. It's a anki plugin that uses google translate and other services to mp3-ize text. Check it out.
