It would be nice if e.g. the QR code background color for PNG export could have an alpha (transparency) channel.
This would allow to embed a QR code less intrusively on a photo.
On bright photos high transparency could be used, on dark photos white with relatively low transparency could be chosen.
Thank you for Zint!
Robin might consider this interesting proposal.
We would need the alpha component behind -fg adn -bg switches.
Thank you,
Harald
I like this idea and I can see a way to do it without causing problems for existing installs. I'm going to leave this as "pending" until I get a suitable chunk of time to try implementing it.
It's taken a while, but this has finally been implemented in version 2.9.1 which was released today. Amount of alpha for foreground and background can be specified by entering colours in RRGGBBAA format. Alpha channel is supported by PNG and SVG output formats.
Thanks for that! Now it would be very useful, if even EPS-Files can have no background (instead a white or coloured rectangle).
No background is now available for EPS files also with version 2.10.0, which was released today (as well as PNG, GIF, TIF, SVG and EMF files).
So am closing this if that's ok - please comment if not! Thanks for the request...
