hi,
i wanted to try this out, downloaded the current version
of both the game (2.0 bin) and the editor (1.2 bin),
installed directx 8.1b (4.08.01.0901) and run the game.
After displaying "Loading" for a second, it popped up a
MS Visual C++ Runtime Error and quit. Also when i re-
tried and just moved the error msg window, the game
terminated itself.
The editor started up correctly, but crashed when i tried
to load an example map; it just closed.
i'd like to give you more specific info, so i ask you to
include more info to the loading screen, or consider
creating a log, so that one knows where exactly the
problem is.
my system:
intel celeron 800, VIA chipset mainboard, 256M RAM,
756M virtual RAM, >400MB free disk space at time of
testing, nVidia GeForce II MX 400 gfx card, win2K server
build 2195, no servicepacks, no special systemhacks

experimented with dxdiag dx3d setting, when i disabled the
hardware support, the game started up (though 0.2fps should
not be called a game)
When returned back to hardware, crashes again

This is very interesting. I have not had it crash on anyones
macine :)
The map with the editor does use some textures that are not
included with the editor (oops!)
Your system specs sound like they are fine, but i suggest
downloading the latest Geforce drivers for your video card.
This should be the first step. :)

ive got the nVidia DetonatorXP driver, or whatever it is called,
downloaded and installed about a month ago.
im now going home for two months, which means almost no
inet, but i will try the program on win98 there and let you
know the results.
